Class
Schedules, Tuition and enrollment:1. Week sessions
begin on the 1st full week of March, April, May, October,
November and December.
2. Week
sessions start on the Monday after the 1st week sessions
in March, April, May, October and November.
Teacher:
All
classes will be taught by Stephen Jepson nationally known
as a potter for over 25 years and recently for his
instructional award winning videos on pottery.
Program:
Classes
are small (usually 6-10) and have included beginners,
experienced professionals and every stage between. There
are group demonstrations and discussions, but the
emphasis is on individual instruction, tailored to the
needs of each student. The central focus is on throwing.
Beginners learn basics through a disciplined step-by-step
system, and experienced students improve their techniques
through more demanding projects. The school is a large
collection of works by outstanding American potters to
illustrate varied approaches and solutions and to provide
inspiration. Each student will have their own work area,
electric wheel, tools, and as much clay as needed.
Classes meet from 9-5 Monday- Friday.
Location:
2
miles east of Geneva FL-Highway 46 at Jungle Rd. 30 miles
N.E. of Orlando International Airport. 10 miles West of
I-95 (exit 81,Sanford), and 50 miles east of I-75 (exit
66 Wildwood).
Setting:
The
classroom building is surrounded by lush green jungle in
a rural area of Forrest, lakes, orange groves, cattle
ranches, and horse farms.
Meals:
Almost
any kind of food you can imagine is available in the
Orlando area restaurants and markets.
Recreation:
A
course at World Pottery Institute can also be a Florida
vacation. The Orlando offer excellent golf, tennis,
fishing, bicycling,wilderness hiking, swimming and
boating in crystal clear lakes, springs and rivers, as
well as cinema, live theater, concerts, opera, ballet and
many fine shops and restaurants. Pristine Atlantic
beaches are only 30 miles away, as are Kennedy Space
Center, Walt Disney World, Sea World, and many other
attractions.
