Jepson Pottery was Founded by Stephen Jepson in 1971,

Stephen Jepson received his MFA in ceramics from Alfred University in 1971. In the same year he established his studio, Jepson Pottery, in Geneva, Florida. Jepson Pottery concentrated on decorative accessories and functional ware for cooking and serving. From simple earthy stoneware mugs to elegant, richly decorated porcelain plates and vases, everything was designed with function in mind to be not only beautiful, but a pleasure to use.

Stephen Jepson received his MFA in ceramics from Alfred University in 1971. In the same year he established his studio, Jepson Pottery, in Geneva, Florida. Jepson Pottery concentrated on decorative accessories and functional ware for cooking and serving. From simple earthy stoneware mugs to elegant, richly decorated porcelain plates and vases, everything was designed with function in mind to be not only beautiful, but a pleasure to use.

In 1972, Stephen started the ceramics program at the University of Central Florida, where he taught for 8 years. In 1993, he produced his award winning pottery instructional video collection. In 1998, he started his own pottery school, the World Pottery Institute. Through his personal instruction and video series, Stephen has influenced thousands of potters from around the globe. With over 40 years of experience as a professional potter, he is highly skilled in production throwing on the potters’ wheel as well as making large one-of-a-kind pieces. His work has been seen in more than 40 regional and national juried and invitational exhibitions, 20 one-man shows in museums and galleries, has won numerous awards and is included in the American Craft Gallery of the Smithsonian Museum.
